Responsibilities

• Accurately reads, interprets, records, and maintains records of patient testing and learns new procedures/assignments in a timely manner.
• Maintains an up-to-date working knowledge of all technical procedures in the department and operation of all instrumentation.
• Routinely reviews pending reports and investigates and manages all outstanding specimen/test issues and delays as well as consults with or apprises CLS, Manager, or Medical Director regarding matters beyond own scope of responsibility of knowledge.

Requirements

• A valid CLS certification from the State of California required.
• Follows the State of California, DHS, Laboratory Field Services requirements of education for licensure of a Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) required.
• Two years as a clinical laboratory scientist (CLS) preferred.
