How You'll Contribute
- Follows standardized procedures and helps prepare samples for testing.
- Operates laboratory equipment in a high-quality, effective manner.
- Analyzes test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits, and reports/documents results per organizational standards.
- Runs tests and analyzes the results to be reported to the patient, physician or registered nurse.
- Performs Quality Assurance work to ensure accuracy of equipment.
- Willing and able to demonstrate appropriate core competencies annually or as requested.
- Maintains accurate and complete records of all quality control tests completed.
- Performs and determines accuracy of technical lab procedures.
- Reads and understands all procedure manuals on an annual basis.
- Collects biological specimens.
- Prepares and forwards biological specimens to appropriate reference laboratory according to departmental procedures.
- Provides instruction to students/new employees with regard to procedures and departmental policies.
- Checks available supplies and reports deficiencies to supervisor in a timely manner so as to avoid shortages.
- Reviews procedure manual and signs off on procedures.
- Writes and updates procedures.
- Reviews quality control results and documents as such.
- Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Supports the culture of service excellence throughout the organization.
- Actively seeks ways to demonstrate a commitment to the continuous improvement and participates in other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Computer and/or keyboarding skills required.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.

What We're Looking For
- Applicants should have Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Lab Services.
- ASCP certification or eligibility required.
