Clinical Lab Scientist

About the Role

This Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) position at Corona Regional Medical Center in Corona, CA reports to the Senior CLS/Supervisor and assists in the operation of the Laboratory by performing specialized tasks involving medical laboratory testing. The role involves performing and reporting test results with responsibility for accuracy, training and orienting new technologists, and directing the work of laboratory assistants and auxiliary personnel. The position requires maintaining a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures and complying with all quality control policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform and report results of medical laboratory tests with responsibility for accuracy.
• Assist in training and orientation of new technologists.
• Direct work of laboratory assistants and auxiliary personnel.
• Maintain working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures.
• Understand and comply with all quality control policies.
• Support the hospital’s strategic plan and performance improvement goals.

Requirements

• Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License required.
• Knowledge of all areas in the laboratory demonstrated through the interview process.
• Knowledge of laboratory computer systems preferred.
• Able to successfully complete a test for color blindness.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences preferred.
