Clinical Lab Associate IV - First Shift
About the role
The Clinical Lab Associate IV supports the Specimen Processing Supervisor in leading the day-to-day operations of the Specimen Processing Department. Key responsibilities include creating schedules, assisting with team member 1:1s, interviewing, delivering feedback, conducting investigations, recommending/implementing corrective and preventive actions, managing workflows and automations, and creating/editing standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities
- Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
- Maintain documentation of problems and problem resolutions following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Develop department goals that align with organizational priorities.
- Identify and progress on individual development goals that align with organizational priorities.
- Support operational initiatives including quality and process improvements, SOP development, department inspections and audits.
- Aid and support the Clinical Lab Training Department.
- Handle and dispose of all specimens following standard precautions and safety policies.
- Communicate and manage change effectively.

Requirements
- High School Degree/General Education Diploma.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- 3+ years of experience working in a laboratory, medical or high throughput environment.
- 2+ years of experience leading, mentoring and/or coaching others with or without direct reports.
- Intermediate knowledge and experience using Internet navigation, email, Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory or 3.5 years in Cologuard Clinical Lab.
- 2+ years of experience leading a team of direct reports or 3+ years of leading, mentoring and/or coaching others without direct reports.
- Experience in troubleshooting automation and performing instrument maintenance.
- Leverage experience (Kaizen, Kanban, root cause analysis, countermeasure implementation, etc.).
