Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The School of Business at North Carolina Central University seeks highly qualified applicants for a Clinical Faculty position in Accounting in the Department of Accounting. The School’s AACSB accredited programs serve undergraduate and graduate learners. The Department of Accounting inspires undergraduate learners pursuing a degree in accounting.
Primary Purpose of Position
The selected candidate will exhibit a desire to teach at the undergraduate level but may also be required to teach graduate courses. Responsibilities include Learner content development, delivery, engagement, and performance measurement. The Teaching Load is 4/4 for each Fall and Spring semester for a total of eight (8) courses per academic year. Instruction may include synchronous and asynchronous modalities. This is a non-tenure track position. The preferred candidate will have earned a Ph.D. in Accounting or a related field from an AACSB accredited program or equally relevant accredited program in a related discipline. Candidates with a Master degree and significant working experience in the Accounting area will be considered. Faculty will engage students in the study of operations and performance.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Candidates must demonstrate currency in the discipline, effective oral and written communication skills, experience using instructional technology, and sound technology knowledge. Successful candidates must have the ability to engage learners in their teaching, demonstrate leadership, and to work collaboratively and collegiately with multiple and diverse stakeholders.
Minimum Education/Experience
Preferred candidates should hold a doctoral degree in Accounting or closely related discipline. Candidates holding a master’s degree must have a minimum of 18 credit hours in the discipline and must also have significant, relevant professional experience. Professional discipline certification is desirable. Consideration will be given to candidates who meet criteria consistent with the School’s accreditation standards. Candidates should hold degrees from AACSB International or other relevantly accredited programs.
Licenses or Certification required by Statute or Regulation
As required by University policies and procedures.
