Responsibilities
- Lead clinical informatics projects using evidence-based practices.
- Serve as an Informatics leader bridging people, processes, clinical knowledge, and technology.
- Document specifications for tools, reports, and systems that support organizational business needs.
- Utilize the SBAR process to plan recommendations for informatics solutions.
- Ensure workflows/processes are up-to-date with regulatory agencies and best practice standards.
- Identify changes to systems to comply with policies and procedures efficiently.
- Utilize data to drive process, workflow, and behavior change regarding EMRs and other clinical technology.
- Serve as a resource to end users for information systems and technology communication.
- Routinely conduct intentional rounding in patient care areas to gain knowledge of facility-specific workflow, patient throughput, and technology challenges.
- Maintain monitoring of outcomes and evaluate user adoption of IT and functionality.
Requirements
- Post-graduate degree in Nursing Informatics, Health Informatics, or related fields.
- In lieu of a post-graduate degree, a clinical background, post-graduate degree, and 1 year of Informatics experience is sufficient.
- Four years of Clinical/Nursing/Health Informatics experience required with direct experience in Epic application(s) preferred.
- Completion of EPIC Clinical Content Builder series of classes and certification or badges related to workflows and applications within first 12 months or longer with approval from Sr. Manager.
- Professional Informatics certification (ANCC, AMIA 10x10, etc) required within 12 months of hire if Masters degree is not in Informatics.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include a post-graduate degree in Nursing Informatics, Health Informatics, or related fields, or a clinical background, post-graduate degree, and 1 year of Informatics experience.
- Four years of Clinical/Nursing/Health Informatics experience required with direct experience in Epic application(s).

Preferred Qualifications
- A professional background in a clinical role (nursing, physical therapy, respiratory, etc.).
- Experience in a Clinical Informatics position.
- A Master's Degree in Informatics.
- An EPIC Certification.
