Description of Work
The Clinical Informatics Specialist provides independent consultation, technical assistance, training, and program/project administration for the Epic Electronic Health Record. This role involves consulting with internal and external stakeholders, analyzing and interpreting data and trends related to the electronic health record. The Clinical Informatics Specialist collaborates with healthcare and IT professionals to design, implement, and evaluate information technology systems that enhance health outcomes, improve patient care, and strengthen the clinician-patient relationship.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Management Preferences
- Ability to interpret regulations, software, applications, and operate hardware for the Center's Epic Electronic Health Record.
- Ability to present ideas in written form, adjust language or terminology to meet needs of the recipient, and use correct grammar, organization, and structure.
- Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office Products including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Two (2) years of Epic Electronic Health Record experience.
- Certified as an Epic Clinical Trainer (CT).
Recruitment Range
This position is required to work onsite at 2577 W 5th Street Greenville, NC 27834. The recruitment range is $60,881.00 - $106,544.00.
Conditional Requirements
Ability to successfully complete CPR and CPI or facility adopted de-escalation training.
About the Facility
The Walter B. Jones Center operates two adult inpatient treatment programs in Greenville, NC: Woodside Treatment Center and Lakeside Psychiatric Hospital. The primary purpose is to provide inpatient treatment, psychiatric stabilization, and medical detoxification for individuals with mental health, substance use, and other co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses. The Center is accredited by the Joint Commission and SAMHSA/CSAT. Two specialty programs are offered statewide: Inpatient Opioid Treatment and Inpatient Perinatal Services.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
