He or she provides leadership for all aspects of planning and implementing data technology initiatives and serves as a liaison between homecare, data technology vendors, and the Day Kimball Healthcare Information Technology department. The Clinical Information Specialist provides daily support to end users and troubleshoots issues with hardware and software promptly and efficiently. He or she supports the Director and other members of the In-Home Leadership team through developing reports and dashboards for communicating information and metrics related to organizational goals. Clinical Informatics Specialist Key Responsibilities: Responsible for project management, technical support, and general application maintenance of the electronic medical record, online learning platform, electronic document management system, and other data technology systems used by Day Kimball Homecare and Hospice.Responsible for exporting of all OASIS, HIS, CAHPS, Electronic Visit Verification, CT Wiz, and other State and Federally required data per current regulations.Available to office support staff to troubleshoot and resolve technology problems for all users of Day Kimball Homecare programs.Serves as liaison between Day Kimball Homecare and technology vendors. Communicates problems related to software and electronic data to vendors and keeps end users up to date on problem resolution.Facilitates a two-way flow of information and communication between the Day Kimball Information Technology and the homecare departments.Responsible for maintenance of databases, field staff laptops, and mobile phones, delegating to office support personnel as indicated.Provides orientation to new employees and ongoing education based on training needs for existing employees on all data systems. Assists clinical managers in the management of new employee orientation and annual education requirements.Utilizes the knowledge and skills of clinical practice to determine clinical functions that are suitable for computer application and to ensure the Information systems are consistent with professional standards of clinical practice and regulatory requirements. Clinical Informatics Specialist Education and Experience Requirements: Valid driver’s license and proof of current liability insurance as well as reliable vehicle required Licensure/Credentials Registered Nurse or Therapist. Education Bachelor’s degree in nursing or therapy.Additional education and/or certification in Informatics or data technology. Project management training preferred. Experience Three or more years’ experience in nursing or therapy.Past and current experience with healthcare information systems and their use in patient care required.Previous management experience preferred. Clinical Informatics Specialist Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of clinical practice, preferably in a Homecare setting.Comprehensive knowledge and experience with point-of-care technology and clinical applications.Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Access.Demonstrates initiative, self-motivation, and high attention to detail.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to articulate technical and user needs and provide clear education to diverse audiences.Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment while delivering quality service.Upholds Day Kimball Hospital values of quality, empathy, and teamwork in all interactions.Managing: Determines time, place, and sequence of operations based on data analysis; executes decisions and reports outcomes.Supervising: Interprets work procedures for a group, assigns duties, promotes efficiency, and maintains harmonious relations.Analyzing: Examines and evaluates data; presents alternative actions based on evaluation.Instructing: Trains and educates others through explanation, demonstration, supervised practice, or technical recommendations.Serving: Attends to the needs, requests, or expressed/implicit wishes of others.Compiling: Gathers, collates, or classifies information about data, people, or objects; reports and acts on information as required.Precision Working: Uses tools, body members, or work aids to perform tasks where responsibility for accuracy and standard attainment is critical.Follows instructions and procedures while attending to the needs and requests of others; responds promptly when required.Proficient in reasoning, math, reading, writing, and speaking; communicates with poise, confidence, and clear English.
