Clinical Improvement Specialist

About the Role

The Clinical Improvement Program Specialist advances organizational clinical strategic improvement by providing project leadership and partnering closely with the Clinical Improvement Designer. This role applies expertise in project management, process improvement principles, and healthcare operations to drive work across the Plan, Execute, and Sustain phases of clinical improvement projects. Responsibilities include ownership of project documentation, collaboration with project teams and operational leaders, and facilitation of meetings using established project management best practices.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff consistent with Jefferson’s values.
• Utilizes Enterprise project management standards, processes, policies, methodologies, and tools to manage timelines, resources, and budgets.
• Collaborates with Clinical Improvement Team members and leaders to drive organization-wide initiatives and improvement work with accountability for outcomes.
• Assists with data and KPI tracking and reporting to leadership to drive performance of improvement initiatives, reduce clinical variation, and optimize utilization.
• Contributes to the OnPoint Program’s efforts to improve equity, experience, quality, safety, and population health by providing project management support across these areas.
• Develops and maintains trusting relationships with key stakeholders to foster collaborative improvement efforts.

Requirements

• B.S. in Business, a relevant clinical field, Healthcare Administration, and/or Quality and Safety.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in project management.
• Proven ability to manage all stages of the project management life cycle.
• Experience working in teams with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
• Superior interpersonal management skills and emotional intelligence.
• Experience overseeing large, complex projects in a dynamic healthcare environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and multitasking abilities.
• Experience managing information systems, clinical initiatives, and process improvement projects.
• Comfortable working in a complex, matrixed environment.

Qualifications

• PMP or CAPM certification (can currently be pursuing).
• Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or above, and/or Quality Improvement-related certification.

• Develops and fosters strong relationships with critical stakeholders, including project team members, executive sponsors, and operational stakeholders.
• Provides clear and comprehensive communication of OnPoint Clinical Improvement and Transformation strategy.
