Clinical Genomic Specialist
Position Overview
The Clinical Genomic Specialist will support clinical whole genome sequencing for both Proactive and Rare Disease products. Key responsibilities include reviewing clinical documentation, contributing to clinical report writing, providing guidance to ordering clinicians, serving as a genomic testing resource, ensuring efficient order processing, and collaborating cross-functionally.
What You'll Do
- Review clinical documentation and extract appropriate HPO terms to support interpretation and reporting
- Draft clinical reports across proactive and rare disease whole genome sequencing products
- Perform variant assessment and classification across proactive and rare disease whole genome sequencing products
- Provide genomic genetic testing expertise and support to the internal client services team regarding test selection, test performance, and laboratory processes
- Leverage awareness of current processes and systems to suggest ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Work cross-functionally to troubleshoot issues and maintain excellent patient and provider satisfaction
- Develop clinical content, including patient-facing education materials and provider resources, to support clear communication and effective use of genetic testing results
- Collaborate on publications, product launches, marketing pieces, and other projects as opportunities arise
What You'll Need
- MS in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program and ABGC/ABMG certification or active candidate status required or PhD with clinical diagnostic experience
- 1-3 years of previous clinical genetics experience
- Previous laboratory genetics experience in the exome/genome space preferred
- Strong working knowledge of human genetics and diagnostic genetic testing concepts
- Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and organized
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, engaging content for a variety of audiences
Location and Compensation
Location: Remote in the US
Compensation: Annual salary range is $110,000 - $140,000, based on experience. This role is also eligible for equity.
San Francisco Bay Area pay range: $110,000 USD - $140,000 USD
