About the Role

Majestic Care is seeking a Clinical Education Specialist to operationalize nursing care policies, procedures, and solutions that adhere to a regulated and safe environment for our residents across the enterprise. This position focuses on enhancing the knowledge and skill set of care team members through instructor-led education and hands-on skill competency training, including the development of skills validation documentation and delivery of hands-on validations in training scenarios and at the point-of-care.

Successful interprofessional collaboration among peers, direct care team members, executives, and external vendor partners is required. This role ensures organized regulatory adherence, operational consistency, and governance of respiratory care services while enhancing care team member knowledge and skill competence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire care team members, including nursing aides, licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, respiratory therapists (RT), and other supportive roles, to perform at the top of their licensure.
  • Demonstrate passive and active listening skills to understand concerns at the point-of-care and incorporate them into enterprise-wide clinical and respiratory solutions.
  • Communicate effectively horizontally and vertically across the organization, articulating concerns and interests to peers, supervisors, and executives.
  • Manage dynamic relationships with third-party vendor partnerships, such as respiratory care staffing, equipment, and supply vendors, Quality Improvement Organizations, and others.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with company clinical care policies, state and federal regulations, and current standards of care.
  • Escalate concerns, observations, and recommendations to appropriate roles across the enterprise and interconnected partnerships.
  • Assist in developing and revising training materials aligned with state and federal regulations, resident population needs, and care team member learning capacities.
  • Maintain a library of standardized educational content, including presentation materials, skill validations, and pre/post-test materials, customizable for specific needs.
  • Collaborate with, mentor, and train care team members to ensure they perform at the top of their license, fostering professional growth and excellence.
  • Validate skill competency through return demonstrations, pre/post-testing, and standardized validation tools.
  • Track and report completed education, including care team member participation.
  • Foster a culture of service excellence that anticipates and responds to resident needs.
  • Protect the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Develop education based on learning needs assessment data from regulatory updates, quality metrics, mock survey findings, facility assessments, and consultant reports.
  • Communicate and work toward achieving departmental goals and objectives, motivating care team members to do the same.
  • Deliver education and training professionally, aligning with organizational goals and audience comprehension levels.
  • Report allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation, or mistreatment of residents to supervisors and cooperate with investigations.
  • Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, or hazardous chemicals per facility policy.
  • Assist in developing and implementing training materials based on regulatory requirements and organizational guidance.
  • Report work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to supervisors.
  • Follow established infection control policies and procedures.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned within the scope of practice.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of healthcare management principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and practices.
  • Ability to partner with facility-based clinical leadership to optimize education and training benefits across the enterprise.
  • Ability to interpret policies into operating procedures and coordinate functions for maximum cooperation and efficiency.
  • Skills to instruct, advise, and assist care team members to meet patient and resident population needs.
  • Ability to address day-to-day problems presented by team members and others.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a similar field.
  • Active Registered Nursing License required in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, or Kentucky (compact licensure strongly preferred).
  • Familiarity with federal and state regulations in long-term care.
  • Strong understanding of respiratory care services in long-term care and their governing regulations.
  • Familiarity with nurse aides, licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, their scope of practice, regulatory needs, and education levels.
  • Familiarity with other care team department roles and their education levels.
  • Active BLS CPR instructor certification strongly preferred.

Other Special Requirements

  • Manual dexterity required to operate modern office equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license for travel as needed.
