Clinical Documentation Integrity Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Design, conduct, and facilitate educational efforts and trainings related to clinical documentation.
• Share ongoing coding guidelines, rules, and regulations updates.
• Develop, maintain, and conduct orientation of new CDI team members and Physician Advisors.
• Assist with the assessment, development, and growth of CDI specialists, and act as a mentor and role model in the profession.
• Perform secondary chart reviews and audits for quality assessment of the work provided by the CDI Specialists.
• Collaborate with CDI Supervisors and Manager to create tailored individual education plans.
• Coordinate the CDI program by monitoring, balancing, assigning workload, running and reviewing CDI reports to ensure proper reconciliation and management of records through the software application.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge of coding guidelines, rules, and regulations.
• Strong organizational and self-governance skills.

Qualifications

• 5 years RN experience in Acute Care.
• 2 years working as a Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist.
• Certification required: RN - Florida Department of Health, CCDS - Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist, CCS - American Health Information Management Association, CDIP - American Health Information Management Association.
• Education required: Associates - Nursing preferred, Bachelors - Nursing.
