Primary Duties And Responsibilities

  • Advise and educate clients on current documentation/coding requirements.
  • Counsel clinicians on quality documentation and resolve external chart queries.
  • Analyze coding and billing data to identify outliers and provide education.
  • Support the seamless implementation of the EMR documentation strategic plan.
  • Participate in clinician meetings and company-wide initiatives.
  • Conduct audits and present monthly facility report cards.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Maintain knowledge of EMR's like Allscripts, Cerner, etc.
  • Experience with Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Urgent Care documentation and coding guidelines.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with one or more EMR's: Cerner, EPIC, Medhost, or Meditech.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree - required.
  • Health Information Management.
  • Nursing or another related field.

None.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of job-specific experience in hospital or physician practice environments.
  • Experience with Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Urgent Care documentation and coding guidelines preferred.
  • Experience with EMR's: Cerner, EPIC, Medhost, or Meditech.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Suite such as Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • External: feedback, education, EMR feedback, training, auditing, communicating errors and responding to reviews/issues, Provider Finance and Analytics.
  • External Customer Facing: clinicians education and feedback, EMR training, reporting metrics.
  • Facility Leaders / HIM: report metrics, auditing, education, and feedback, EMR training, communication.

Work Environment And Physical Demands

  • Works independently at client sites/hospitals.
  • Intermittent travel averaging 40% - 75%.
  • Continuous sitting, continuous oral & written communication and listening skills, continuous computer use.
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, lifting, pulling & pushing up to 10 pounds.

Pay Range

$50,751.00 - $72,120.00 USD annually.
