About the role
The CDI Supervisor at Northside Hospital is responsible for collecting and analyzing data to provide reports for hospital-wide use and making recommendations as needed. They participate in planning, developing, and implementing the Clinical Documentation Management Program, educate members of the patient care team on documentation guidelines, assist in reviewing medical records to ensure appropriate physician documentation, and improve the quality of clinical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Collects and analyzes data to provide reports for hospital-wide use and make recommendations as appropriate.
- Participates in the planning, development, and implementation of the Clinical Documentation Management Program.
- Educates members of the patient care team regarding documentation guidelines, including attending physicians, nursing, and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Affords assistance in reviewing medical records to facilitate and obtain appropriate physician documentation for clinical conditions or procedures to support the appropriate severity of illness, expected risk of mortality, and complexity of care of the patient.
- Improves the quality of physicians' clinical documentation and completeness of clinical documentation.
- In the absence of the Manager, assumes 24-hour responsibility.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor’s in Nursing and five (5) years’ experience in clinical area, or graduate from an accredited clinical specialty program with an Associate’s degree or equivalent and clinical credential with the National Board, and three (3) years clinical care experience.
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or Nursing Compact (NLC/eNLC) or Multistate License.
- Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
