About the role
The Physical Therapist Clinical Director oversees the operations and administration of a rehabilitative outpatient clinic providing Physical and Occupational Therapy. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with regulations and healthcare requirements, patient evaluation and treatment, and managing clinic operations.
Responsibilities
- Meet clinic and individual clinician census goals
- Scorecard review weekly with Regional Clinical Director (RCD)
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws
- Facility maintenance
- Interview/hire clinical, administrative, and aide staff
- Train and onboard clinical staff, evaluate performance
- Resolve performance issues and escalate to Human Resources
- Monitor staff compliance and follow up with patients
- Monitor monthly budget, clinical supplies, and expenses
- Perform EMR schedule reviews weekly
- Manage new patient evaluations and discharge policies
- Manage physician referrals, direct access reviews, and other outreach visits
- Manage clinical support staff, including expense management, scheduling, interviewing, and termination
- Adhere to lost patient log workflow and conduct weekly calls with RCD
- Conduct monthly clinical supply ordering
- Monitor and address low Net Promoter Scores
- Follow up on Medicare compliance and patients approaching MMR cap
- Manage and approve clinic expenses
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy or related field, Doctorate degree preferred
- Professional License/Certification required
- Valid CPR license
- Minimum of three years' clinical outpatient experience and two years' clinical supervision or clinical program development experience
- Knowledge of EMR system
- Ability to troubleshoot, keen sense for decision-making and judgment, action-oriented, approachable, and effective at building and fostering teamwork
- Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal, and communication skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy or related field, Doctorate degree preferred
- Professional License/Certification required
- Valid CPR license
- Minimum of three years' clinical outpatient experience and two years' clinical supervision or clinical program development experience
- Knowledge of EMR system
