About the role
The position involves rotating shifts including weekends and requires additional hours as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assess, interpret, plan, monitor, and document the nutritional status and nutritional needs of patients using evidence-based standards of care, policies and practice guidelines.
- Perform a nutrition-focused physical exam on patients.
- Identify and provide age-specific nutrition care and meet the cultural needs of the patients and their families.
- Work within an interdisciplinary team to provide a plan of care to achieve the patient's health goals.
- Educate patients, caregivers, students, and other healthcare colleagues on the effects of therapeutic diets and nutrition support to maintain/improve nutritional status.
- Provide support and supervision to the daily infant formula preparation routine, including identifying and calculating recipes to individualize the formula to meet nutritional needs of the infant.
- Participate in department activities to enhance patient satisfaction.
- Stay current on nutrition research and incorporate findings into daily practice.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or Family & Consumer Science with ACEND requirements completed.
- Less than one year of previous job-related experience.
- Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and Licensed as a Dietitian with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
- Must obtain registration and licensure within 6 months of hire date.
Pay
Pay Rate: $30.01 per hour
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
