Job Description
The Clinical Registered Dietitian II is a member of the interdisciplinary health care team who provides general clinical nutrition care to all patients on units in which they are trained and competent to perform. The Clinical RD II identifies patients with malnutrition, increased protein and/or energy needs or other medical problems affecting nutrition status. Primary responsibilities include developing and implementing medical nutrition therapy using established standards of care and practice policies/guidelines; evaluating and monitoring the effectiveness and outcomes of the plan of care; ensuring continuity of care throughout the provision of care process; providing nutrition education to patient and family members on behaviors to accomplish patient goals; conducting educational programs for hospital staff and the community, as needed. Participate in performance improvement projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Complete the minimum education requirements as set forth by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in an acute care hospital setting. For out-patient practice, three (3) years of relevant experience in out-patient based counseling and education settings preferred
- General knowledge of Electronic Medical Record programs, nutrient analysis software and MS office applications or similar applications
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Duties performed mostly while sitting; walking and standing at times. Occasionally lift or carry up to 10 lbs. Uses hands and fingers.
License/Certification/Registration Requirements
- Must be a Registered Dietitian; registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as defined by the California Business and Professions Code and be current with CDR portfolio.

This position will serve all age groups.
Schedule
FTE 0.9 Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours 72 Work Shift Day: 8 hours
Pay
Salary Range $56.76 - $75.47 USD Hour
