Clinical Dietitian - Diabetes Education

About the role

Sentara RMH Medical Center is now hiring a Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. This position will plan and coordinate education and care of patients with diabetes in collaboration with other disciplines, community agents, and Sentara subsidiaries. Will also serve as the resource person for the clinical staff serving the inpatient population.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the resource person for the clinical staff serving the inpatient population.
• Work experience with diabetes population (Preferred)
• Patient education and care coordination experience (Preferred)

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree - related field (Required)
• Bachelor's degree - Dietetics (Preferred)
• If Bachelor's Degree is in major other than Dietetics, must complete an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics.
• Certification/License (Preferred)
• If not currently certified, will be required to obtain CDCES license within 2.5 years of hire. Will also give consideration to Registered Dietitian candidates.

Qualifications

• Education Bachelors degree - related field (Required)
• Bachelors degree - Dietetics (Preferred)
• If Bachelor's Degree is in major other than Dietetics, must complete an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics.
