CLINICAL DIETITIAN, CANCER ADMINISTRATION

About the role

Contributes to the delivery of quality patient care by providing nutrition services (including assessment, modified diet formulation, and nutrition counseling/consultation) for all age groups cared for at SGMC Health and Hospice House. Assists in growth and development of staff and other allied health professionals; assists in management of cost effectiveness of department as evidenced through efficient use of materials and human resources. Maintains an atmosphere which insures SGMC Health’s values, goals, policies and procedures are consistently supported and enforced.

Responsibilities

• Provides nutrition services (assessment, modified diet formulation, and nutrition counseling/consultation) for all age groups cared for at SGMC Health and Hospice House.
• Aids in the growth and development of staff and other allied health professionals.
• Aids in the management of cost effectiveness of the department, demonstrating efficiency through the use of materials and human resources.
• Maintains an environment that supports and enforces SGMC Health’s values, goals, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Clinical Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, or related field required, unless registered prior to January 1, 2024.
• Currently registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly the American Dietetic Association), as a Registered Dietitian.
• Currently licensed by the State of Georgia as a Licensed Dietitian.
• Must obtain Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition (CSO) within three years of employment at PCCC.
• Minimum two (2) years of clinical oncology nutrition experience preferred.
• Knowledge of oncology disease processes, cancer treatment modalities, nutrition support, symptom management, survivorship, and palliative care.
• Skilled in verbal and non-verbal communication.
