Clinical Dietitian

Responsible for the evaluation, planning, and clinical assessment of nutritional status of residents and participants in Loretto long-term care facilities. Coordinates all phases of nutrition care including assessment, care planning, monitoring, education, and counseling in various settings. Performs duties in compliance with licensing, accrediting, and regulatory agencies. Contributing member of the interdisciplinary team in establishing and implementing care plans.

Responsibilities

  • Advise Diet Technician/Home Health Aides regarding food service operations in the Day Center.
  • Attend daily meetings with the team and initial care planning and reassessment meetings.
  • Complete assessment semi-annually and with significant change in status as indicated.
  • Active member of tissue trauma team.
  • Adhere to the mission and philosophy of the D&TC, PACE CNY, and the Loretto Corporation.
  • Develop and maintain positive, respectful relationships with all customers (participants, families, team members, staff, community partners) while performing responsibilities to the highest quality standards.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of PACE/D&TC Emergency Preparedness Plan and verbalize role during an event.
  • Perform any other duties required to meet the goals and objectives of the program.

Requirements

  • Two years of clinical experience in a health care setting desired; long-term care or outpatient experience preferred.
  • Completion of a dietetic internship.
  • B.A. or B.S. in dietetics from an AND (Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics) accredited academic institution, required.
  • Current registration or registry eligible.
  • Able to effectively assess residents or participants’ nutritional needs and establish plans of nutritional care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with participants, residents, and families from diverse backgrounds who may have physical, sensory, and mental impairments.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and able to learn new software rapidly.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the above requirements.

$62,000 - $80,000 / year
