Clinical Data Analyst (Surgical Tech)

About the Role

We are a growing healthcare startup in the DFW area seeking an experienced OR/Surgical Tech with a solid background in a variety of surgeries. This role involves classifying millions of medical products into categories to streamline purchasing for healthcare organizations. The position requires a deep understanding of surgical instruments, equipment, and their use in complex procedures.

This is a 6-month contract with potential for extension. The role is semi non-technical but demands strong attention to detail, the ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately, and comfort with long periods of detailed computer work.

Responsibilities

• Review and classify medical products into appropriate categories based on their use in surgical procedures.
• Perform data cleansing and analysis using Excel (sorting, filtering, importing/exporting data).
• Conduct internet research to verify product categorization and gather additional information as needed.
• Organize and categorize data with a focus on accuracy and logical placement.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure products are classified in a way that maximizes purchasing volume.
• Demonstrate curiosity and proactively ask questions to clarify requirements or anticipate needs.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience as a Surgical Tech working in a hospital OR within the last year.
• Proficiency in Excel (sorting, filtering, importing/exporting data).
• Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to logic through problems and anticipate additional information needed.
• Highly organized, with experience categorizing and verifying data through research.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to tolerate repetitive, detail-oriented work while maintaining accuracy.
• Intuitive problem-solving skills and a natural curiosity about processes and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Military medical experience.
• Customer service experience.
