About the role
The Role As a Clinical Data Abstractor, you will leverage your clinical expertise to transform complex patient medical records into valuable longitudinal data that drives our rare disease research forward. You'll work closely with our clinical teams to ensure the highest quality abstraction of patient information while developing mastery of our disease models, ontology, and proprietary systems.
Responsibilities
- Abstract and review relevant longitudinal information from patient medical records with exceptional accuracy and efficiency, maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Develop deep expertise in our proprietary disease model, ontology, and internal annotation tools to maximize productivity and data quality.
- Support quality assurance initiatives, pilot annotation projects, and guidance and training material development to continuously improve our processes and team capabilities.
- Work collaboratively within the clinical annotation team to maintain consistency in data extraction approaches and ensure delivery commitments are met for all research partners.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a collaborative mindset when adapting to new content areas and evolving project requirements, embracing learning opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to platform enhancement through testing, feedback, and issue reporting.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience providing clinical care for patients with rare genetic disorders, with preference for pediatric neurologic, metabolic, and cardiovascular conditions.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Genetic Counselor in good standing.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Experience in healthcare data annotation, chart reviews, or research data entry is a plus.
- Proven expertise in data privacy regulations (HIPAA) and data security best practices.
- Proficiency in technology and software tools for data analysis, with demonstrated ability to adapt to new platforms quickly.
