Clinical Counselor (Part-Time)

About the Role

Provide educational and therapeutic support to undergraduate students of IWU - Marion. The Clinical Counselor must be a Christian committed to the Lordship of Christ and respectful of the Wesleyan tradition, integrating a Biblical worldview into every area of lifestyle and practice. The role involves continual personal and professional growth through spiritual disciplines and a developed vision for impacting the student body through programs and services in The Center for Student Success. The ideal candidate demonstrates efficiency, creative cooperation, and deep compassion for students.

Responsibilities

• Integrate the Christian faith into counseling practices.
• Provide personal counseling to students and make referrals as needed.
• Maintain confidential files for counselees and adhere to the record-keeping system.
• Stay current with advances in psychology and counseling literature.
• Participate actively in weekly clinical supervision meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Clinical Counseling.

Requirements

According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy, all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

• Master’s Degree and licensure in Counseling or Social Work.
• Prior counseling experience with young adults preferred.
• Indiana state licensure (or working toward licensure) in LMHC, LMFT, or LCSW.
• Knowledge of DSM and ICD evaluative procedures and commonly used clinical counseling assessments.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented counseling environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse individuals, community service professionals, and education professionals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
