Job Summary

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for overseeing daily clinical operations and ensuring high-quality patient care. In this role, the Clinical Coordinator provides leadership to the nursing staff to facilitate and guarantee quality care while demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver direct patient care as needed. The position involves coordinating patient care activities, managing clinical staff, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. The Clinical Coordinator collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to optimize workflow, improve patient outcomes, and maintain a patient-centered approach to care. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure the delivery of quality care through the effective application of the nursing process.
  • Stay aware of patients’ needs and communicate any changes to relevant team members.
  • Apply critical thinking and establish priorities when making decisions regarding patient care and staffing.
  • Delegate tasks fairly based on each team member's capabilities, ensuring all work is completed efficiently.
  • Act as an advocate for both patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with the Director/Designee to complete performance evaluations, follow up on staff achievements, and provide counseling and education as needed.
  • Practice cost control measures to ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Keep the Director/Designee informed of all relevant matters and updates.
  • Adjust assignments and priorities to accommodate changing or increased workloads.
  • Support nursing policies and serve as a change agent when new procedures or policies need to be implemented.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Connecticut required.
  • Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire required.
  • BS in Nursing or related health field preferred.
  • Experience: At least one year of demonstrated effective leadership experience preferred.
