About the role

The Clinical Coordinator serves as an administrative liaison and resource person, facilitating, coordinating, and overseeing the process of patient care. This role manages clinical staff, assignments, vacation calendars, department orientation, and patient education. The Clinical Coordinator ensures compliance with clinical policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates, coordinates, and oversees the process of patient care.
  • Maintains positive relationships with internal and external contacts through phone, correspondence, or personal meetings.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, caregivers, and office staff.
  • Manages medication duties, including injections, sample medication administration, and patient education.
  • Prepares and maintains exam rooms, ensuring stock levels and removing outdated supplies.
  • Follows equipment cleaning, sterilization procedures, and ensures staff compliance.
  • Rooms patients, conducts assessments, assists with procedures, implements physician orders, and documents clinical information.
  • Operates and maintains clinical equipment, including routine maintenance and supply ordering.
  • Provides input into equipment selection and department policies.
  • Obtains precertification/authorizations and ensures proper coding documentation for billing.
  • Generates statistical reports for the Practice Manager and Physicians.
  • Assesses human resource needs, plans and evaluates employee activities, and reallocates staff to meet patient care needs.
  • Demonstrates leadership in fostering positive employee development and performance.
  • Assists in creating evaluations and recommends personnel actions for performance issues.
  • Identifies educational needs of nursing staff and contributes to training programs.
  • Ensures personal and staff compliance with certification and mandatory education requirements.
  • Communicates effectively with staff, physicians, and other departments.
  • Clarifies and interprets administrative, personnel, and nursing policies.
  • Represents nursing staff at meetings and serves on committees as assigned.
  • Utilizes electronic health records and communication systems effectively.
  • Manages phone triage, messaging, and provider updates.
  • Identifies and improves ineffective routines, interventions, and systems.
  • Contributes to department quality initiatives and process improvements.
  • Ensures compliance with health and safety regulatory agencies.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned or required in emergencies.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience, with at least 2 years in a specialty or related medical setting within the past 5 years.
  • Substitutable: ASN/ADN with 3 years of experience can substitute for a Bachelor’s in Nursing with 2 years of specialty experience.
  • Current South Carolina Registered Nurse license.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Basic first aid knowledge.

Schedule

Full-time, day shift: Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 5:00 PM.

Pay

Sign-on bonus: $12,500.
