Clinical Chaplain II Nonexempt
About the Role
Provides timely pastoral care and spiritual support to patients, families, and staff during crises, emergencies, and routine situations. Responds to inpatient referrals within 24 hours and outpatient referrals within 48 hours, including evening and weekend chaplaincy care. Participates in mandatory facility-wide and department training/meetings, demonstrating knowledge of fire, safety, security, and disaster procedures.
Collaborates with community clergy, local congregations, and community events to provide spiritual care and lead educational workshops. Engages in leadership spiritual formation and supports campus/entity leadership through spiritual care and mission resources.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional, meaningful spiritual care to patients, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds with respect and reverence toward individual values and beliefs.
- Demonstrate professional pastoral qualities that earn the respect of nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Establish constructive working relationships with all members of the healthcare team, including staff chaplains, community clergy, and caregivers.
- Complete tasks and communicate effectively using Microsoft Office Suite and other healthcare system charting and communications applications.
- Enter Pastoral Care visit information in healthcare system databases efficiently and correctly.
- Fill a flexible schedule for on-call and other assignments, which may include nights, weekends, and duties at the Sebring, Lake Placid, and Wauchula campuses.
- Apply debrief and crisis intervention skills.
- Demonstrate collaboration, teamwork, and an understanding of institutional culture, systems, and corporate relationships.
Requirements
- Personal commitment to God and personal integrity.
- Proficient in the English language.
- Full knowledge and understanding of whole person health principles and related spiritual needs.
- Proficient in spiritual care principles and assessment abilities.
- Bachelor's degree (required).
- Master's degree in Theology or religious studies (required).
- PRN-Level 2: Minimum of two (2) units of Clinical Pastoral Education completed at a center accredited by ACPE, Inc.
- Clinical Pastoral Education Residency or completion of 4 or more units of ACPE, Inc. accredited CPE (preferred).
- Licensure by an ecclesiastical body.
- Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) (preferred).
- Ordained Minister (ORDM) (preferred).

Pay
$25.37 - $47.19 per hour.
