Clinical Chaplain

About the role

This is a PRN Chaplain position for Nights, Weekends, Holiday.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the spiritual needs of patients to assist the healing process as part of a holistic team.
• Provides focused attention to patients, loved ones, and staff without agenda, effectively listening and responding to their needs.
• Conveys personalized care to patients, families, and staff, ensuring they feel cared for and supported.
• Enables patients, loved ones, and staff to experience God's nearness, safety, and comfort.
• Aids patients, loved ones, and staff in articulating their struggles and identifying their inner resources of strength, meaning, faith, and hope.
• Aids patients, loved ones, and staff in making major health decisions, clarifying moral, medical, and ethical issues.
• Helps patients and loved ones find their spiritual center and utilizes religious and culturally appropriate resources.
• Regularly visits patients, loved ones, and staff, making rounds and checking in with clinical staff in assigned areas.
• Responds appropriately to all code blues and other emergencies, verifying patient identity, notifying family, and coordinating with staff, family, and legal authorities.
• Documents and charts pastoral activities in compliance with hospital, state, and federal regulations.
• Promotes and develops the coordination of care by participating in interdisciplinary conferences and contributing significant data for comprehensive and holistic care plans.
• Mentors chaplain interns and residents as assigned.

Education

• Bachelor's in spiritual care, arts, or equivalent degree from college/university or institution accredited by the applicant’s institutional faith body [Required]
• Completion of deacon training and ordination [Required]

Field Of Study

• Bachelor's Degree in spiritual care, arts, or equivalent degree from college/university or institution accredited by the applicant’s institutional faith body Required
• OR Completion of deacon training and ordination Required

Work Experience

• 1+ pastoral ministry [Preferred]

Pay Range

$26.29 - $48.91

Background Screening Requirement

Certain positions are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting, as required by state law.
