Clinical Care Technician - Emergency Department - Full Time Night

Full-Time, Night shift at RWJ Somerset Emergency Department. Pay range: $21.04 – $26.19 per hour.

You will support Registered Nurses in providing hands-on care, monitoring patient conditions, and carrying out care plans. Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide nursing care, including taking vital signs, EKGs, and performing phlebotomy
• Assist with bedside care such as bathing, mouth care, and skin care
• Monitor vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature) and document patient information accurately in electronic health records while maintaining confidentiality
• Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and address concerns
• Apply Basic Life Support (BLS) skills, including CPR, during acute situations
• Provide patient care appropriate to age-specific needs
• Maintain ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding the status of patient care
• Collaborate on patient care plans from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitions

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification

Qualifications

• Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program is preferred
• CNA certification is preferred
