Responsibilities
- Greet, register, and room patients; collect vital signs and patient history.
- Aid providers with clinical procedures and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
- Provide patient education and comfort, review after-visit instructions, and conduct follow-up calls.
- Maintain exam rooms, medical supplies, and clinic logs per protocol.
- Communicate with patients, providers, pharmacies, and staff effectively.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and safety standards.
- Participate in clinic meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
Qualifications
- Current Iowa certification as EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or CMA.
- IF EMT/Paramedic: Current and Active Permit to Practice/License in State of Practice.
- IF LPN: Current and Active/Unencumbered LPN License in State of Practice.
- IF Certified Medical Assistant: Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants (Certificate, diploma, or associate’s degree) required. Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through one of the following required: National Healthcare Association, American Association of Medical Assistants, National Center for Competency Testing, National Certified Medical Assistant, American Registry of Medical Assistants, American Allied Health, American Medical Technologists.
- Clinical experience preferred!
- Epic experience a plus!
