Clinical Associate- MICU, Part-Time

About the role

The role involves performing direct and indirect patient care activities under the supervision of a registered professional nurse. Duties include assisting with patient care, transporting patients, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic physical care to promote patient comfort as directed by the Registered Nurse.
• Affords assistance with activities of daily living as per the patient's needs.
• Transports and safely moves patients to tests and procedures, and assists with their discharge.
• Performs routine tests such as glucose monitoring, urine and stool testing, and maintains quality control logs.
• Assists with basic rehab and Physical Therapy activities, including range of motion and ambulation.
• Communicates with nurses regarding nutrition issues and provides total care within scope of practice (vital signs, activities of daily living).
• Maintains a clean and safe environment to prevent infections and ensure patient, visitor, and employee safety.
• Completes errands as requested and removes out-of-date items.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support or HeartSaver First Aid within 30 days of hire date.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Qualifications

Skills

• Competency in using Safe Patient Handling equipment.
• Excellent communication skills and strong customer service orientation.
