8 MICU – This 12 bed ICU specializes in the care of the Intensivist Medicine patients, with specialized focus on sepsis and septic shock. This is a closed ICU model of care. Here is an opportunity to thrive and bring your valuable skills to life within a setting known for providing the best quality care to patients.

As a clinical associate, you will provide basic clinical services to patients and clerical support to the unit health-care team.

Successful candidate MUST BE able to attend required orientation classes during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm for the first 2 weeks. These classes are mandatory!

Responsibilities

• Welcomes and assists patients and visitors with registration
• May assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Coordinates patient flow into/out of area using department/unit specific software and Intranet
• Schedules patient therapeutic and diagnostic procedures
• May review medical records for outstanding orders and notifies nurse of stat orders and medication changes
• Cleans unit-based equipment and gathers supplies needed to operate equipment between patients as needed
• Transports patients, supplies specimens and equipment within the facility
• May assist with chart audits
• May perform unit-based patient care tasks for patients
• May participate in the sitter process
• Interacts with patients, visitors, physicians, and other health professionals
• Answers incoming calls via telephone and patient call system. Routes calls as needed and takes messages
• Provides scheduling coverage support for department/unit staff scheduling, including back up coverage
• Operates and maintains general office equipment
• Orders department/unit supplies and equipment and stocks/organizes supplies
• Serves as a resource for department/unit software system
• Monitors cleanliness of waiting and break rooms and performs safety/environmental rounds
• Assists with maintaining regulatory compliance in unit

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED
• No prior experience required
• Critical Access Area - Certified Nursing Assistant is required
• AHA BLS-HCP required
• Effective interpersonal, communication, and team-working skills
• Must be organized and self-motivated
• Must have knowledge of office procedure and equipment

Pay

$18.70 - $26.18
