Job Summary

The Department of Dermatology at the University of Michigan Medical School invites applications for a dry (unpaid), joint faculty appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology. This appointment is contingent upon and held in conjunction with an approved clinical staff appointment as a Dermatologist/Physician at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System. This faculty position is designed for an accomplished clinician committed to excellence in medical education, clinical service, and academic collaboration.

About the Role

The successful candidate will contribute substantially to the educational mission of the University of Michigan Department of Dermatology through the teaching and mentorship of learners across the continuum of medical education.

Required Qualifications

  • Candidates Must Hold an M.D. or equivalent medical degree.
  • Candidates Must Be Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Dermatology.
  • Candidates Must Be Eligible for and Maintain an Unrestricted License to Practice Medicine in the State of Michigan.
  • Candidates Must Hold or Be Eligible for an Approved Staff Physician Appointment at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System.
  • Candidates Must Demonstrate a Commitment to Teaching and Mentoring Medical Students and Residents.
  • Candidates Must Possess Strong Interpersonal, Communication, and Collaborative Skills.
  • Preference Will Be Given To Candidates Who Have Prior Experience in Resident and Medical Student Education.
  • Candidates Must Demonstrate Demonstrated Contributions to Curriculum Development, Quality Improvement, Scholarly Activity, or Academic Service.
  • Candidates Must Demonstrate Interest in Advancing the Missions of Both the University of Michigan Medical School and the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System.
