Job Duties
- Rooming of clients including height, weight, blood pressure, visual acuity, and color vision screening.
- Completes and documents all necessary medical records for nurse visits, patient encounters, and medication refills.
- Administers and documents oral and injectable medications and vaccinations.
- Accurately prepares and routes electronic and faxed medication refill requests.
- Schedules appointments, verifies insurance, checks in for appointments, coordinates patient referrals, and manages insurance medication prior authorizations.
- Orders and restocks supplies and accurately documents phone calls and patient care.
- Performs and documents phlebotomy, EKGs, and waived lab testing.
- Aids in patient care coordination by assisting the physician, PA, or CNP with diagnostic testing and referrals.
- Collects data for quality initiatives and serves on various committees and task forces as assigned.
- Trains and provides a productive learning environment for students, externs, and new staff.
Required Education and Experience
- BLS Certification
- Certification or registration from an accrediting body such as the AAMA or the ARMA (must pass Certified Medical Assistant exam within six months of hire) or possession of a Minnesota practical nursing license through the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
- Knowledge of nursing principles, policies, procedures, and medical ethics.
- Excellent communication skills across disciplines and at various levels.
- Possession of attention to detail, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Basic computer skills and comprehension including Word.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Health care/clinic experience.
- Phlebotomy and lab experience.
- X-Ray certification and/or experience.

Salary
$22.09 - $33.14 per hour.
