Primary Duties

  • Create and maintain user access for clinical applications for all departments.
  • Create and maintain education for end users.
  • Affix maintenance of all clinical applications including building user accounts, monitoring queues, correcting and filing failed documents.
  • Optimize the EMR to meet the ongoing needs of patient care and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Provide on-call support for clinical applications/systems.
  • Provide technical support and end-user training for clinical applications/systems.
  • Maintain current knowledge of health reform initiatives, HIPAA compliance and patient care as they pertain to clinical application/system needs.
  • Monitor and report on project activities and report on status within published timelines.
  • Review documentation release(s) by software developers to keep apprised of changes and upcoming developments in software applications.
  • Communicate any software problems and issues to the software development and support teams.
  • Prepare complex program, system and user documentation for enhancements.
  • Perform complex analysis and troubleshooting for various clinical applications.
  • Provide technical support and end-user training for EMR, PACS systems and other clinical applications.
  • Explain technical material in an understandable manner to less technically proficient users.
  • Manage 3rd party Vendors to contractual obligations and escalate issues as needed.

Qualifications/Specifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional-level experience preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications: None required.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience developing, supporting, maintaining and/or administering information systems. Experience with clinical electronic medical records preferred.
