Job Description
The individual in this position is involved in the implementation and evaluation of the competency-based BSN program and its students. A clinical adjunct staff member is assigned to a BSN course(s) to teach the clinical or lab section(s). Clinical adjunct staff needs include: Long-term care, Med-Surg, Complex Care, Pediatrics, Maternity, and Mental Health.
A Clinical Adjunct Staff member will:
- Support the mission of Ashland University and the College.

- Maintain exemplary academic standards and pursue continued development as a educator.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and role modeling for students.
- Function under the guidance of the Lead Faculty and communicate student clinical concepts and competencies to the student and clinical staff; orient students, make clinical assignments consistent with the specific competencies for the designated course; provide appropriate student supervision; evaluate the student’s achievement and progress relative to their clinical or laboratory competencies through formative and summative assessments.
- Meet deadlines, attend meetings, complete compliance requirements, and meet and work with staff, faculty, students, and the public.
- Promote and maintain collaborative relationships between the college and clinical partners.
- Demonstrate the College values of integrity, caring, accountability, respect and excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Completion of an approved registered nursing education program in a jurisdiction as defined in paragraph (S) of rule 4723-5-01 of the Ohio Administrative Code.
- Current, valid licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio.
- A baccalaureate degree in nursing or enrollment in a graduate level course in a program for registered nurses to obtain a master’s or doctoral degree with a major in nursing.
- Official transcripts verifying academic preparation.
- Experience: At least two years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse.

Requires the ability to work indoors in a moderately stressful environment and the ability to adapt to changes in workload. Physical requirements may include frequent sitting, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
