About the role
Wentworth Health Partners is a comprehensive women’s health center providing compassionate, personalized care for women at every stage of life. We offer a full spectrum of services, including obstetrics, gynecology, urogynecology, infertility support, and inclusive LGBTQ+ care. We are seeking a full-time Clinic/Practice Assistant to join our team at our 700 Central Avenue location in Dover.
Clinic/Practice Assistants play an integral part in the operations of our community-based physician practices, providing administrative support to ensure high-quality patient experiences. This role involves fielding telephone calls, processing referrals and lab orders, monitoring patient flow, and supporting practice leadership and clinicians.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine administrative and clerical duties relating to a clinical service or physician practice office.
- Schedule and maintain patient appointments and records.
- Greet and assist patients; answer telephones, assist callers with routine inquiries, and schedule appointments.
- File materials in patient folders and print appointment schedules.
- Process patient billing forms and scan documents to patient medical records.
- Call for patient medical records and laboratory test results.
- Open and distribute mail or faxes.
- Type forms, records, schedules, memos, etc., as directed.
- Accept co-payments as required.
- Handle, screen, and/or take messages related to prior authorizations, referrals, and verify registrations for accuracy.
- Monitor patients in the waiting room and respond to needs for information.
- Assist in patient flow processes.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- 0-1 year of healthcare office experience required.
- Basic proficiency with Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel).
- Knowledge of office operations, standards, and procedures, including filing, copying, scanning, printing, and faxing.
- Ability to use phone systems and manage non-routine calls.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and organize multiple tasks.
Candidates without prior healthcare experience are encouraged to apply if they possess strong customer service skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
Schedule
- Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Pay
$17.71 - $23.20 per hour.
