Clinic Phlebotomist- Camden Location

Department: Ouachita Valley Family Clinic; Shift: Day; Working Hours: 8-5.

Responsibilities

• Properly identify patients and obtain blood specimens as ordered by a licensed health care provider.
• Ensure, in the presence of the patient, that specimens are properly identified with a hospital-generated label or with two patient identifiers, the date, the time, and their unique ID.
• Responsible for the timely delivery of specimens to the laboratory and must communicate with nursing and laboratory staff if there is a problem in obtaining a specimen.
• Complete courier rounds, chain of custody drug testing, and breath alcohol testing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with doctors, nurses, clinical staff, and people from all walks of life and in every age group.
• Ability to read, write, and have basic computer skills.
• Understand and practice proper phone etiquette.
• Authorized for 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
