Responsibilities

  • Greet, instruct, and direct patients and visitors.
  • Register new patients and schedule existing patients, receive all co-payments/payments, and issue receipts.
  • Serve as a liaison between patient and medical support staff, and process medical records requests.
  • Float to other clinics as needed.
  • Answer multiline telephone, take messages, provide information, and direct calls throughout the office.
  • Collect and update all demographic and insurance information on new and existing patients with accuracy.
  • Receive copayment/payment from patients.
  • Schedule and reschedule patient appointments as required.
  • Scan all medical charting information into the computer promptly for physician or APP viewing.
  • Copy, print, fax, or mail medical records as appropriate.
  • Open, sort, and distribute mail.
  • Prepare daily payment packet for the Central Billing Office (CBO) with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Travel to and fill-in at other clinics.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
  • Adhere to safety protocols at all times.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education opportunities.
  • Implement DRH Standards of Behavior and exhibit behaviors consistent with DRH core values.
  • Comply with DRH policy, including required vaccinations (medical and religious exemptions available upon request).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Healthcare clinic experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to send/receive email, navigate information technology, and use Electronic Health Record tools.
  • Strong communication skills, including fluency in oral and written English.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to urgent situations.
  • Ability to apply self-motivation and project management skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to represent the department and organization at all levels.
  • Familiarity with standard office equipment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely manner.
  • For positions requiring travel, a current valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance must be maintained.
