Clinic Nurse Supervisor - Internal Medicine

Job Summary

The Clinic Nurse Supervisor assists the Clinic Services Director in providing leadership within the clinic and is responsible for assuring smooth day-to-day clinic operations and the optimal patient experience.

Provides leadership and motivation in Clinic Department to Nurse and Medical Assistant colleagues, optimize clinic workflow and satisfaction for patients, physicians, and nursing staff. Supports the Clinic Services Director with clinical expertise and advice by providing input into the maintenance and development of guidelines, procedures, and policies. Works with fellow Clinic Nurse Supervisors to facilitate Nursing and Medical Assistant staff meetings, orientation/trainings, and other educational opportunities to assure best-practices are being utilized throughout the clinic. Plans for and anticipates changes and subsequent adaptations.

Responsibilities

• Supports and motivates Clinic Department colleagues, optimize clinic workflow and satisfaction for patients, physicians, and nursing staff.
• Provides input into the maintenance and development of guidelines, procedures, and policies.
• Facilitates Nursing and Medical Assistant staff meetings, orientation/trainings, and other educational opportunities.
• Manages and maintains complete Clinic schedule as a coordinator group.
• Maintains and orders Clinic equipment and supplies for specific department (ie, IM, FM, etc..).
• Assists in the yearly employee evaluation process, gathers input from other staff and providers, coordinates evaluation team, and provides real-time daily feedback to Nursing and Medical Assistant staff.
• Develops proficient working knowledge of Cerner and assists in training clinic staff, ensuring consistency, compliance, and evolution of new work flows within the EHR.
• Maintains and displays an appropriate degree of clinical expertise. Acts as a resource for providers, other medical staff, patients and families.
• Bases decisions and actions on ethical principles and fosters a non-discriminatory, positive climate in which care is delivered in a manner sensitive to socio-cultural diversity.
• Onboards, trains, and develops fully capable medical assistants for the outpatient Clinic.
• Liaison to coding staff to optimize revenue capture through Clinic workflow.
• Coordinates and contributes to the Clinic Services Committee agenda and action items.
• Attends the meeting when possible. Understands and optimizes CGHAPS scores for the clinic.
• Completes Time Cards for “Pod” assigned Clinic Employees.
• Supervises direct clinic nursing care and assessment ensuring quality control of nursing area of operations.
• Adheres to administrative policies and procedures relating to human resource management.
• Responsible for call per clinic policy.

Qualifications

• Current and active in good standing Montana State Registered Nurse License.
• BLS certification.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in clinical nurse setting.
• Demonstrated successful leadership experience.
