About the role

At Children’s Wisconsin, we believe kids deserve the best. Our pediatricians and primary care offices offer parents a level of care that cannot be obtained at other places. We are seeking a part-time Clinic RN for our Kenosha Pediatrics location.

This position is primarily focused on phone triage, with minimal direct patient care responsibilities. The schedule is Monday 8:30-5, Tuesday off, Wednesday off, Thursday 9-5:30, and Friday 8:30-5, subject to change based on clinic needs.

Responsibilities

  • Performs triage via phone and patient messaging in the electronic health record.
  • Delegates patient care responsibilities appropriately, and maintains accountability for the quality of care.
  • Provides for the health education needs of families with a focus on self-management and preventive health.
  • Adheres to all Children’s Wisconsin and Children’s Medical Group policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensures confidentiality to our customers by creating and maintaining a secure and trusting environment; maintains HIPAA compliance.
  • Provides exceptional care to patients and families to fulfill our patient experience promise.
  • Collaborates with other disciplines as required to coordinate patient assessment, develop/monitor outcomes, implement plan of care, and monitor variances to ensure quality patient care.
  • Documents in accordance with organizational nursing standards.
  • Adapts to changing work assignments and schedules.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in a primary care or urgent care setting preferred.
  • Experience with pediatric patients preferred.
  • Triage experience in a clinical pediatric setting preferred.

  • Good organization, delegation, and communication skills to facilitate efficient patient care.
  • Strong demonstrated ability in assessment, analytical decision making, and critical thinking.

Qualifications

  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council required.
  • License RN-Registered Nurse (30) - State of Wisconsin, or License RN-Registered Nurse (IN Compact) - State of Indiana, or License RN-Registered Nurse (AZ Compact) - State of Arizona.
