About the role

Since 2015, Telespeech Therapy has provided exceptional speech-language pathology services to individuals across the lifespan through our outpatient clinic and teletherapy programs. Our clinicians evaluate and treat a wide variety of speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders while delivering compassionate, evidence-based care in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and collaborative Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our growing outpatient clinic in Bakersfield.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct speech and language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising SLP.
• Work closely with supervising Speech-Language Pathologists to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, physicians, educators, and other healthcare professionals, as appropriate.
• Participate in interdisciplinary discussions and care coordination activities.
• Maintain timely and accurate therapy documentation and service records.

Requirements

• Associate's degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or related field.
• Current, active California Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Previous experience working with pediatric and/or adult patients in an outpatient, rehabilitation, healthcare, or educational setting is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.

• Knowledge of evidence-based treatment strategies appropriate for the SLPA scope of practice.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• A compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Pay

$35.00-$45.00 per hour.

Full-time or part-time; non-exempt.

Position Details

• Reports to: Director of People & Communications/Lead SLP
• Classification: Full-time or part-time; non-exempt.
• Work demands: This role routinely involves sitting, standing, moving through the clinic, communicating with patients and team members, and using a computer for clinical and administrative work. It may occasionally involve lifting or moving items up to 20 pounds.
