Clinic Assistant - Veterans Evaluation Services

Maximus is hiring a Clinic Assistant for the Veterans Evaluation Services (VES) team in San Diego, CA. Due to contract requirements, only US citizens or Green Card holders can be considered.

About the role

The Clinic Assistant supports providers and veterans on exam days, solves problems in a solutions-oriented manner, and updates case statuses. The ideal candidate has a caring, positive, and patriotic attitude toward assisting wounded veterans.

Responsibilities

• Perform all job functions in compliance with HIPAA policies and adhere to local and externally relevant health and safety laws.
• Gather and provide necessary information to providers, including forms, documents, and vital signs for evaluations.
• Deliver high-level customer service by greeting and directing visitors, answering inquiries, confirming contact and appointment details, and ensuring a positive experience.
• Document all actions and pertinent information related to veteran and provider interactions.
• Clean exam rooms between appointments and maintain clinic stock and cleanliness throughout the day.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must live in or near San Diego, CA.
• Willingness to travel to other clinics as needed.
• Willingness to work weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) as required.
• Valid Driver License (not suspended, revoked, or expired).
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) highly preferred.
• Customer service or hospitality industry experience highly preferred.

Pay

$22.97 per hour (prevailing wage rate for the location, as determined by the Department of Labor). Salary history will not be used in determining compensation.
