Position Summary
The Clinical Specialist - Physical Therapist will plan, evaluate, and implement treatment programs for physical therapy patients. They will assume responsibilities for program development, staff training, and consultation.
Responsibilities
- Performs patient evaluations (initial, progress, and discharge evaluations), establishes treatment plans, makes recommendations, and sets goals in accordance with patient needs and evidence-based practice.
- Maintains and updates patient documentation in accordance with professional, departmental, organizational, and payer guidelines and timeframes.
- Participates in training, orientation, and supervision of support staff.
- Provides 8 hours of education/mentorship time per year, including peer counseling, mentorship, community lectures, volunteer orientation, in-services, case studies, lunch and learns, and continuing education courses.
- Completes required education assignments annually.
- Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
- Minimum Experience: Four (4) years of experience with a minimum of three (3) years in specialty area.
- Licensure Requirement: Must have and maintain Tennessee State Physical Therapy Licensure with achievement of at least one of the following at time of hire or placement in the position: Advanced degree in specialty area, Advanced degree associated with specialty area, Professionally recognized certification in specialty area, 100 hours (10.0 CEU’s) of continued education.
