About the role

Join our passionate team of tree care professionals as a dynamic Climbing Arborist Trainee. You will learn to perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully while operating as a member of a tree crew.

Responsibilities

• Trim and remove trees, including unwanted, diseased, or dying limbs to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas.
• Learn to climb trees as part of your training.
• Progressively learn new skills while working as part of a tree crew.
• Perform tree pruning and removal services, including:
  • Tree identification and industry pruning guidelines.
  • Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy.
  • Installing cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
  • Assisting in the removal of hazardous trees.
• Properly maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.

Requirements

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.

Qualifications

• Preferred background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Preferred relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Pay

Hourly pay starting at $20.00 - $24.00 based on experience.

Schedule

Full-time, permanent position with travel expectations up to 25%.
