Client Vice President
About the Role
Responsible for accountability for a full region and major accounts, including leading and negotiating contracts. This position focuses on growing the business by increasing revenue from existing and new clients, serving clients, and maintaining Finley’s reputation as a trusted advisor and partner. Provides exceptional client experience through attentive account management, consultation, and solution generation. Serves as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts with oversight from the CCO.
Responsibilities
- Develop prospects into clients and nurture existing client relationships for profitable incremental revenue growth.
- Accountable for a full region with contract signing authority.
- Leverage necessary resources and expertise inside Finley to create client solutions and Statements of Work.
- Build relationships with clients and prospects through strategic and consultative discussions addressing opportunities and business challenges.
- Ensure alignment and coordination of client needs across Finley to deliver exceptional service.
- Collaborate with the Finley Service Delivery team as an extension of client service.
- Advocate for the client inside Finley, particularly regarding project delivery coordination.
- Develop the Finley brand in the broadband industry and new markets.
- Exercise prescribed authority for quick decision-making to address client and prospect needs.
- Maintain records of business development activities and client interactions in CRM software or other tracking methods.
- Monitor broadband/energy industry trends and competitor activities to identify business expansion opportunities.
- Leverage industry connections to identify potential clients and key decision-makers within target organizations.
- Partner with clients to define and achieve strategic objectives by translating high-level goals into actionable plans.
- Maintain continuous engagement with strategic or high-value clients through frequent touchpoints (often weekly or more).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a combination of post-secondary education and directly related work experience in telecommunications/broadband or a related field.
Experience:
- Required:
- 8+ years of experience and proven success in sales account management and/or business development within the telecommunications industry, preferably in a broadband engineering professional services company.
- Track record of identifying new opportunities, securing contracts, and achieving/exceeding revenue targets.
- Ability to understand client needs and translate them into tailored solutions and actionable Statements of Work.
- Strong consultative skills for client acquisition and account management.
- Awareness of current and anticipated industry trends.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and solve business problems.
- Proven ability to build trust with clients, manage complex relationships, and act as a strategic advisor, preferably within telecommunications/broadband and government sectors.
- Skilled in coordinating cross-functional teams and aligning internal stakeholders to meet client needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident presenter and negotiator at all organizational levels, including C-level.
- Understanding of project scoping, management, and delivery in a consulting or engineering services environment.
- Proficient in CRM systems (e.g., Vantagepoint, Salesforce, HubSpot) and basic analytics/reporting tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Preferred:
- Sales and account management experience in both Broadband and Energy sectors.
- Experience in an Engineering Professional Services organization.
- Consulting experience.
Licenses, Certifications, and Physical Requirements
- A valid motor vehicle driver’s license in good standing is required. No DWI/DUI convictions.
- Work is primarily computer-based in an office environment.
- Requires normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Location and Travel
Location: Remote; ideal candidate must be located in south Texas or east Kentucky/Tennessee.
Travel: Approximately 50% of the time.
Pay
The starting base pay range for this position is exclusive of benefits. Base pay will be determined based on skills, education, and experience related to the position, with consideration for internal equity. Hiring at the high end of the range is not typical.
