Client Technology - Engineering - Architecture
About the role
The opportunity involves being part of the Architecture team within the EY Client Technology’s Technology Strategy and Architecture (TS&A) function. The candidate will define and deliver architectures and designs for business-critical global products and platforms, considering reusability, scalability, and reliability in alignment with EY's mission and strategy.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships across the business to understand their requirements, strategy, and help them build product/platform roadmaps, demonstrating architecture leadership to translate business requirements into architecture blueprints, as well as innovative and practical design (both high and low level).
- Own the overall technology, architecture, and design landscape of the product/platform from solutioning to delivery to adoption and sale phases.
- Potentially lead a team of architects in a portfolio or large product, setting the overall technology and architecture direction and owning its end-to-end delivery in a lead architect’s capacity, along with providing constant architecture governance and guidance.
- Solve complex problems in realms where solutions may not currently exist, necessitating the ideation and incubation of new solutions/ways of working/technologies, technical feasibility and buy/build analysis, vendor product evaluations, proof of concepts (with hands-on) and presenting various options to the business with appropriate recommendations.
- Work very closely with multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., engineering, platform, infosec) to deliver the envisioned architectures and designs using optimized delivery approaches, in compliance to enterprise standards, practices, policies, and guidelines.
- Provide leadership in product delivery to build and consume reusable functional and technical assets. Identify, define, and implement the reusable assets and standards.
- Provide support to product and project managers in building the plans, forecasts, estimations, and costs for new as well as existing products/platforms, to build the appropriate balance between costs, risks, and quality.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to development teams during the delivery phase across the ecosystem, frameworks, and platforms. Ensure that the developed artifacts comply to envisioned architecture and design, expected quality, recommended standards/practices with code reviews and various levels of architecture, design, and quality reviews.
- Contribute to architecture and development standards/guidelines to promote optimization and consistency.
- Have the ability to work across multiple projects with varied stakeholders. An architect sets architectural direction, builds consensus, mediates conflicts, providing technical leadership and advisory services to the business. He/she anticipates needs and potential objections and helps to create an environment which solicits positive contributions from all participants.
- Demonstrate good interpersonal communication and organizational skills that are required to operate as a leading member of global, distributed teams that deliver quality services and solutions.
