We are looking for a candidate to join the Architecture team within EY Client Technology’s Technology Strategy and Architecture (TS&A) function. The role involves defining and delivering architectures and designs for business-critical global products and platforms, hosted in various infrastructure environments, with a focus on reusability, scalability, and reliability in alignment with EY’s mission and strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Own the overall technology, architecture, and design landscape of the product/platform from solutioning to delivery, adoption, and sale phases.
  • Potentially lead a team of architects for a portfolio or large product, set technology and architecture direction, and own end-to-end delivery in a lead architect capacity, including architecture governance and guidance.
  • Solve complex problems where solutions may not currently exist by ideating and incubating new solutions, conducting technical feasibility and buy/build analyses, evaluating vendor products, and presenting options with recommendations.
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., engineering, platform, infosec) to deliver envisioned architectures and designs using optimized delivery approaches, compliant with enterprise standards, practices, policies, and guidelines.
  • Provide leadership in product delivery to build and consume reusable functional and technical assets. Identify, define, and implement reusable assets and standards.
  • Support product and project managers in building plans, forecasts, estimations, and cost analyses for new and existing products/platforms, balancing costs, risks, and quality.
  • Coach, mentor, and support development teams during delivery, ensuring compliance with envisioned architecture, design, quality standards, and practices through code reviews and architecture/design/quality reviews.
  • Contribute to architecture and development standards/guidelines to promote optimization and consistency.
  • Work across multiple projects with varied stakeholders, setting architectural direction, building consensus, mediating conflicts, and providing technical leadership and advisory services.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills to operate as a leading member of global, distributed teams delivering quality services and solutions.
  • Cultivate lasting relationships across business, IT, and vendors/industry analysts to maintain insight into enterprise and industry trends. Understand and apply new trends and emerging technologies at EY.
  • Evangelize and encourage technical quality, emerging technologies, sharing, and experimentation through mentoring, hackathons, and communities.

Requirements

  • Led and governed a global team of solution and technical architects, driving the technology and architecture landscape of large, complex portfolios of products/solutions/projects.
  • Proven architecture leadership skills with advanced understanding and practical experience in architecture roles within complex, large-scale (team size in hundreds), global product/platform ecosystems across the entire lifecycle.
  • Ability to work with business stakeholders and perform hands-on technology delivery using architecture and design tools.
  • Hands-on deep experience in one or more specializations of solution and technical architecture (e.g., application, infrastructure/cloud, integration, data, security) and successful delivery of functional and non-functional aspects of products/platforms using native cloud, full-stack, data, security, AI technologies, Agile, DevSecOps, and automation practices.
  • Expert-level skills in defining, designing, and developing distributed and scalable products/platforms using reusable domain-specific composable (micro) services running on containers in multi-platform/hybrid clouds (Microsoft Azure preferred).
  • Expert-level skills in multiple application programming and scripting languages (JavaScript, .NET, Java, Python, C++, etc.), SQL and NoSQL databases, Big Data processing, data analytics, machine learning, and industry-recommended authentication/authorization technologies. Microsoft and Azure-based technology skills are preferred.
  • Ability to adopt and relate new technologies to EY’s challenges while adhering to security and other standards.
  • Understanding of business and organizational strategy, with the ability to communicate solutions, ideas, and suggestions effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of design patterns and architectural styles (e.g., microservices, containers, event-driven, data streaming, data transformations, and analytics).
  • Strong collaboration, analytical, interpersonal, and communication abilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, or Economics.
  • 15+ years of overall IT industry experience, with 5+ years in a solution or technical architect role using service and hosting solutions such as private/public cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms.
  • One or more solution and technical architecture certifications (e.g., Microsoft, MS Azure Certification, TOGAF, AWS Cloud Certified, Pivotal, CISSP, Zachman, ITIL, Cisco, (ISC)2, CEH, SAFe, PMI, SAP).
  • Thought leadership experience, including presenting ideas, products, and concept papers to varied audiences and industry forums.
  • Experience designing and implementing business use-cases using low-code/no-code, Generative AI, data reporting, data management and governance technologies, mobile applications, and deep cloud security concepts.
