Key Responsibilities
- Provide client system administration support to AFIT/LS as an extension of the centralized AFIT Help Desk
- Install, configure, and manage end-user hardware, operating systems, and software applications
- Deliver customer support for the operation, restoration, and configuration of information systems
- Support standardized student classroom configurations and reset shared student computers to approved baseline configurations
- Cook up trouble tickets, document actions taken, analyze root causes, and track issues through resolution
- Respond to user requests received by email, phone, or direct conversation and escalate issues that cannot be resolved through local procedures
- Configure and support laptops for travel and remote access, along with basic mobile phone and audio/visual equipment support
- Oversee, track, and maintain custodial responsibility of the organization's IT hardware and software inventories
- Provide weekday support during normal business hours for AFIT/LS faculty, staff, students, and shared learning environments
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance (or higher DoD clearance)
- CompTIA Security+ (or DoD 8140 equivalent)
- Experience supporting end-user desktops, laptops, printers, and standard office IT hardware/software in a managed enterprise environment
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues, determine probable cause, and restore service effectively
