About the role
Merrimack Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Full Time Receptionist to join our busy front office. The ideal candidate should be a friendly and enthusiastic individual who loves working with the public and animals.
Responsibilities
- Greeting clients and patients
- Answering phones
- Scheduling appointments
- Filling medications
- Admitting and discharging clients

Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills
- Sense of humor
- Strong work ethic
- Experience in observing death, dying, and euthanasia in small animals
- Experience with Windows based computer systems

- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients
- Ability to endure periods of heavy workload or high stress
- Ability to tolerate high noise levels

Pay
Compensation will commensurate with skill level and training.
Schedule
- Full time hours, including Saturdays and nights during the week
- May need to fill in some weekends, holidays, or during employee absence or hospital emergencies
- Remains cooperative and flexible regarding scheduling

- Able to lift up to forty pounds safely
- Able to handle dogs, cats, birds, and pocket pets with confidence and safety
- Able to communicate effectively with staff and clients in person and via telephone
- Able to endure periods of heavy workload or high stress
