Client Services Representative
Job Summary
The Client Service Representative (CSR) is the client's first contact when calling or visiting the practice. This position represents the professional image of the practice to callers and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Answers telephones, greets clients, prepares patient files, receives and relays client correspondence, updates client financial records.
- Diffuses negative client situations and fosters client bonding.
- Maintains an active veterinary appointment schedule, screens emergencies, and prioritizes cases that need to be seen.
- Handles client/patient transfer requests.
- Prepares health certificates, immunization certificates, laboratory requests, and euthanasia certificates.
- Accurately and compassionately communicates estimates and treatment plans.
- Performs basic digital literacy, types 30 words per minute.
- Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English.
- Works all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Lifts and carries records and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs; sits and stands for extended periods.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of customer service experience, preferably in a veterinary hospital.
- Quickly learn how to pronounce, know the meaning of, and spell commonly used veterinary terms.
- Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal language skills in English.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Physical effort: Lifting and carrying records and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs; sitting and standing for extended periods.
